I remember when I was a little girl and as a family we got given some chickens! Imagine my excitement as a out doorsey little four year old.
Dad made a pen out of chicken wire and wood and they had a little house to sleep in at night. They even survived the great storm! They were mighty little chickens and we loved them!!

One morning however, we woke to find a hole had been dug under the pen and there were no chickens :( only feathers! Lots and lots of feathers. I remember my Dad telling me that they had dug the hole themselves and gone on an adventure. They had left some of their feathers so their load wouldn't be quite so heavy and maybe in the future they might come back and tell us all about their adventures.

Life was good for a while, until............. my brother told me about FOXES!!!!!!!

The deadly fox.

For a long time the fox has anjoyed 'good' publicity amongst some animal lovers - that is until he started attacking humans, including young babies, in towns.

Now people are coming to their senses and realising the dreadful amount of damage a fox can and does do. He is a predator and as far as he is concerned, chickens are not only food, but also sport.

Why can't he do us all a favour and just keep the rabbit population under control? Then his image would undergo an instant makeover.

Mr Fox

That's spooky reading your story today....we had a visit from a fox last night and lost our favourite little hen! A huge hole was dug under the run there was no sign of any entry into the hen house and no sign of the missing little bantom either not even a feather!
