LIGHT SUSSEX

SILVER SUSSEX
The photographic negative of the light sussex hen, with a black body and white necklace and tail feather. Again of the same structure as the light sussex, however in sunlight has a mottled green and purple sheen to her body. Again the comb when fully matured can make this bird look beautiful. Her parentage is a cross between a Plymouth Rock and Light sussex. Variations of the white can make this bird an outstanding sight.
WHITE LEG HORN
A slighter build of bird which is pure white with a pure white gill. This bird is unusual as she lays pure white eggs and was very popular as an egg laying bird in the early 70’s. This beautiful hen never seems to stop laying with an egg production of 300 + eggs per year.

Great service and helpful

I have bought a White sussex from this family, I was after a hen that was actually laying as
I had bought 2 previously 8 weeks before from Jessies hens that had not come into lay yet. He took me to where they free range and into the barn and allowed me to choose one in the nest box getting ready to lay.
The hen actually had laid an egg in the box by the time i got home and has laid everyday since.
Great advice about the breeds was given too.
Also everything you need for keeping hens can be bought from the huge barn next door.
