Easter Egger mix

by Randall Jarmon
(Dallas County, Texas)

our 4th hen Ms Edith

Good morning, well the strong unpleasant West Northwest winds are here in Dallas now. Hey at least its sunny :O)
Went out twice so far to check on our hens & have only picked up one egg today But I bet Ms Edith lays today, she has not missed one day in December. She was a great buy, went to an old feed & seed type of store & I asked if they had any laying hens & there she was (in a tiny cage) she has the blue gene so she's a mixed breed (Easter Egger) as they say. She lays a large light green egg almost daily. I got her on Black Friday and so far she missed one day without laying egg. Now she has a cool deep nest box and a roomy coop / w) small run, I hope to make a real large run for them in Spring.
