We coloured the embryonic fluid with food dye and watched them hatch out different colours !!! The feathers grow through white as they get older. NO harm is done to the embryo.

HI, its all non toxic food dye, I have had no problems with illness or growth problems, you do have to choose the dye carefully and only use a tiny amount. I wouldn't do anything intentionally to hurt any baby chick. I researched and researched before it was done. X

Seriously I did this for real. I have since done 3 more in blue green and yellow :) the back drop is two pieces of A4 and took me an age to get them all looking the right way !! I have more pics if you are still in doubt !

This makes me uncomfortable! by: Anonymous
Are you sure there are no after affects for these chicks, I know they take no nourishment from the fluid and food is provided by the egg sac but surely the chemicals will affect their development?
