Chicken Licken - the lost chicken who became mother hen.

It was my daughter's birthday-and what did she want-a chicken.
Well we never bought he one-but lo and behold fate took a turn.
On her way to collecting her brother from work what should she find wandering in the middle of the road, but a chicken.
She stopped her car, halted the trafic and herded the chicken into the grounds of the school at the side of the road where I happened to work!
It was out of school hours, but after a quick call I was there.
We herded the poor bird, caught her, and we proceeded to collect my son with the bird sat on my lap! all the way there and all the way back as good as gold.
Well This beautiful white chicken lived with us until she met a natural end six years later and is buried in our garden.
In her time she has hatched out two clutches of eggs -not her own- and we still have Henny Penny the bantam and Tweedle dum and Tweedle Dee-all her hatchlings strutting around the garden.
We actually cried when she passed over - and her babies are a testament to what a wonderful lady she was as she taught them all she knew-God Bless
